Gynecomastia is a medical condition where the breasts seem to be obviously enlarged in many males. Gynecomastia in Bangalore could be either due to hormonal changes which usually occur during the onset of puberty in teenagers, which can gradually disappears over the period of 6 months to a year. Is some teenagers, it persists and is labelled as ‘Idiopathic Gynecomastia’. Sometimes excess intake of hormones(steroids) during exercising for body building, heredity and obesity can also cause this problem. Whatever might be the cause, more than a third of the global population is affected by this terrible condition. Though it is not life threatening, it is embarrassing to have enlarged breasts causing severe humiliation and loss of self esteem to a man.
“Disgrace”. “Embarrassment”. “Lack of self confidence”. Just a few of the terms men suffering from Gynecomastia in India are subjected to. It’s really disheartening to note that many men in India suffer silently and face humiliation in the society on account of breast enlargement or man boobs syndrome. It is a condition observed widely affecting almost 65 percent of teenage boys which later on revert back to normalcy in one or two years and are not really a cause of great concern.
